- Purpose of the Qualification The Occupational Certificate: Electrician (NQF Level 4) is a nationally registered trade qualification designed to prepare learners to operate competently as Electricians. Qualified learners are able to plan, prepare, install, test, connect, commission, maintain, alter and repair electrical equipment, wiring and control systems across a wide range of industrial, commercial, construction and municipal environments.
- Occupational Outcome A qualified Electrician is competent to: • Plan and prepare worksites, tools, equipment, materials and consumables for electrical activities • Install, wire and connect electrical equipment and control systems in compliance with statutory regulations • Test and inspect electrical equipment, control systems and installations • Commission electrical installations and control systems safely and effectively • Maintain, fault-find and repair electrical equipment, installations and control systems • Apply health, safety, environmental and quality requirements at all times
